Building & Creating in NYC

I developed a passion for building opportunities for those in need while working and volunteering at various nonprofits in New York City. Taking my work from the ESL classroom to the front lines of operations and philanthropy for over a decade.

In 2019, I moved into the for-profit startup world continuing my professional journey and passion for creating and building systems that work for people. I thrive in roles where I am able to build, create, and own solutions. I have a passion for developing business strategies, scaling operations, improving processes, leading people, and writing. Being an exemplary leader that individuals want to work with and for is critical to my success.

Leveraging technology, I have solved problems by designing systems, innovating low-cost solutions, and building collaborative and high-performing teams.

I am currently seeking opportunities to contribute to organizations by building systems and processes to scale and strengthen team collaboration and business results in Business Operations, Customer Success, Sales Operations, or Chief of Staff roles.

Doing Good to #ChangeTheGame

After transplanting to Brooklyn from Tempe, Arizona, I co-founded the New York Magpies Women's Australian Football Team in 2008 expanding the women's league to 5 U.S. teams in the nation. Ashoka Changemakers recognized the New York Magpies with a $20,000 scholarship in partnership with Nike in our inaugural year.

I have represented the country on the USA Freedom Women's Australian Football team and have helped the development of Australian Football for women at home, on the East Coast, nationally, and abroad.

After a decade of playing, I hung up my boots and put on a whistle becoming head coach of the New York team in 2013. I was selected as the Defensive Line Coach for the USA Liberty Development team, the feeder team to the USA Freedom, in 2015, and coached in that position until 2017.

In 2018, I became the USA Head Coach and will lead the Team USA to the International Cup in Australia in 2024.

I am the only Level 2 Accredited American Coach, either male or female.

Doing Good while #EatingWell

When I'm not at work or footy, you'll find me exploring Food & Wine, New York Times Cooking, and Food52 for the latest and greatest dishes, inspiration, and tips. My food is inspired by my family - full of garlic, flavor, and heart - just like my father's pizzeria, Mamma Licata's.

I began my culinary voyage in NYC by writing articles for Behind the Burner, and have explored the culinary scene in NYC and in my many travels. You'll find me at some of my locals often - Krupa Grocery, Frankie's 457, and other Brooklyn stalwarts. I will forever mourn the loss of Smith Street's JakeWalk.

Doing Good while #LivingWell

In my free time, I enjoy reading the New Yorker, Fast Company, Harvard Business Review, and pretty much any article that pops up in my Google feed. You'll often catch me learning from the likes of Freakonomics Radio, Radio Lab, This American Life, and The Moth.

I enjoy growing fresh herbs and vegetables in my garden, carrying on my family's Sunday night dinner tradition with friends in Brooklyn, listening to great music - new and old - (especially Jack White). Cooking, photography, travel, and writing are my passions.

I originally hail from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I developed my love for the culinary arts, my belief that hard work will get it done, my wanderlust and curiosity in exploring other cultures, and of course, my passion for sports. Go Steelers!
